SPLITTING HAIRS won the “Special Jury Award” at the 2007 USA Film Festival, and marks the directorial debut for Michael Boretz who also wrote and produced the film under his production banner Shining Pictures.  Shot over an ambitious eight-day schedule, the full-scale production incorporates prosthetic makeup, visual effects and stunt choreography, and showcases Michael’s ability to blend genres into an engaging story with universal themes.
From Long Island, New York and a graduate of University of Maryland, Michael got his first break working on the Robert DeNiro feature film, CITY BY THE SEA.  With a focus on directing, Michael continued to work on various productions (SEX AND THE CITY, STUART LITTLE 2) in New York City prior to moving to Los Angeles and working for Joss Whedon’s production company, Mutant Enemy.  Michael is currently working on a feature film screenplay dealing with memory loss and a father’s attempt to rectify past mistakes.

“Sugar Girl”

Felicia Day was born in Huntsville, Alabama. She was home-schooled all her life and got her first acting role as Scout in the Huntsville Little Theatre production of "To Kill a Mockingbird." Felicia started college at 16, majoring in violin performance, and then in mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been on television shows such as "Windfall", "Strong Medicine", "Monk", "Love Inc.", and most notably had a recurring role as Potential slayer Vi on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."  She has been in such films as "Bring it on Again", "June" and most recently the Emmy award-winning "Warm Springs", with Kenneth Branagh.  She has a webisode she wrote and stars in called "The Guild" that can be found on YouTube, and is currently filming "Prairie Fever" for the Hallmark Channel. GAIL BIANCHI

TV/Film credits include CBS’s Cold Case, the Discovery Channel’s Lived to Tell, the short film Ally (Palm Springs’ Int’l Film Festival) and the webisode series Flicka.  Recent stage appearances include the role of ‘Alice’ with the Troubadour Theater Company’s Alice in One-Hit Wonderland (Falcon Theater), and the staged musical workshop of Disney’s “Toy Story.”  Gail understudied Cathy Rigby for the title role in last year’s national tour of “Peter Pan.”  Other CA theater credits include the “Happy Days” workshops (‘Joanie’) written and directed by Garry Marshall; Wrong Turn at Lungfish; Snoopy the Musical (‘Lucy’); Beauty and the Beast (‘Babette’); West Side Story (‘Anybodys’).

“Charlie Pluders”

An American film and television actor, Marshall R. Teague is best known for his role in the 1989 cult movie Road House as the villain Jimmy. Marshall has also starred in the hit films The Rock and Armageddon as well as appeared in numerous television shows, including the popular CBS series Walker, Texas Ranger and in a recurring role on the science fiction series Babylon 5. Shanra Kehl studied photography at Montana State University and attended Columbia College Chicago to pursue a concentration in Cinematography. While at Columbia, she produced and shot a 35mm short film, Paradise Lounge, which won awards at over a dozen film festivals around the world. She studied under cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, A.S.C. and continues to work as a cinematographer on feature films, television series and documentaries. Denise Boutte

Denise’s last film was Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married” and has made appearances on “Days of Our Lives” and “Boston Legal”.  She attended LSU in Baton Rouge and was Valedictorian of her high school class and homecoming queen.  She is currently represented by Innovative Artist and managed by Newman/Thomas Management. Scott Evans studied visual arts at the University of Maryland before moving to Los Angeles in 1999. After two years at the award-winning special FX house, 525 Studios, Scott began his career as an editor. He has since edited features, shorts, music videos as well as several television series. Scott is currently an editor on the emmy-nominated documentary series “Intervention.”
